Ashton – “Artisan’s Blend”
A medium-to-full-bodied English blend crafted for experienced smokers. Combina Virginias, tabacos orientales y Latakia, con un toque de Perique que aporta profundidad sin dominar. The result is a rich, spicy, and well-balanced profile.
Appearance and Aroma Dark, compact ribbons dominate the mixture, interspersed with subtle brown and muted yellow tones. In the tin, it delivers the classic English smoky character, but in a rounder and warmer way: toasted and nutty notes, an earthy backdrop, and a gentle sweetness from the Virginias reminiscent of black tea.
Flavor The smoke is silky and seamlessly integrated. The Latakia’s smokiness is smooth, accompanied by a spicy finish from the Orientals and Perique, without any bite. It brings to mind Nightcap, but with a stronger Oriental presence and a more forgiving character. The aftertaste is nutty and subtly earthy.
Room Note Curiously sweet, featuring a pleasant contrast between the English profile of the smoke and a richer Virginia note that lingers in the room.
Smoking Properties Easy to pack with an ideal moisture level out of the tin, although it tends to burn somewhat fast and smoke a bit wet. Nevertheless, it yields a cool, thoroughly enjoyable smoke.
Conclusion A complex yet approachable winter English blend that excels more for its balance than for the novelty of its flavors. Highly recommended for those who enjoy Nightcap but prefer less aggression from the Perique and a smoother mouthfeel.
